Presentation and Case Study at the "Lübeck Meetings"

How do tax and cash rebate systems work, which countries offer them and what's in it for the producers?
At the "Lübeck Meetings" during Nordic Film Days these questions were raised and discussed. Film institutes from Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania and Norway presented their respective models, followed by a case study of "Leningrad Symphony", a MEDIA funded Docudrama for TV, presented by producer Reinhard Beetz (Gebrueder Beetz Hamburg) and director Carsten Gutschmidt.

All countries have a lot to offer - from landscape to film crews to tax or cash rebate systems. There are mostly between 20 and 30 percent of the costs spent in the respective country that a producer can get back if a co-producer from the country is attached. It's an automatic scheme, if the criteria is fulfilled and there is still money left for the year.
Creative Europe Desk Hamburg, Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and the Nordic Film Days Lübeck invited jointly to this session.
