Berlinale Talents 2027 – Bewerbungstipps von Nikola Joetze

Berlinale Talents ist die jährliche Talentförderungsplattform der Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin und richtet sich an herausragende Kreative aus dem Film- und Serienbereich. Im Zentrum steht der Summit: eine sechstägige Präsenzveranstaltung während der Berlinale mit Panels, Diskussionen, Workshops und Networking-Formaten. Ergänzt wird das Programm durch den Berlinale Talents Lab für Alumni mit Projekten in der Entwicklung sowie den Talent Project Market für Produzent:innen auf Ko-Produzent:innensuche.

Projektmanagerin Nikola Joetze hat für uns den Geist des Programms zusammengefasst und ein paar Tipps für den Bewerbungsprozess formliert. 

Berlinale Talents is, above all, a community. Every year, we bring together 200 unique voices across 15 film crafts, creating a space for exchange, inspiration, and collective growth. In the spirit of the Berlinale Talents community, we are particularly interested in listening to what you feel is necessary for the film industry today: the questions that drive you, the challenges you see for the industry and for your own practice, and how Berlinale Talents can support your journey as a filmmaker and creative professional.

When preparing your application, I encourage you to choose work samples that genuinely reflect your artistic vision and your voice within your craft. Rather than showcasing everything you can do, select excerpts that best communicate who you are, what you care about, and the perspective you bring to filmmaking.

And finally, remember that Berlinale Talents is not only about what you can gain from the programme, but also about what you can contribute to and learn from this remarkable international community. Ask yourself: What would you like to learn from your fellow filmmakers? What conversations are you hoping to have, and what experiences are you excited to share? The strongest applications often reflect both curiosity and generosity — a desire to grow alongside others.
