SERIES LAB HAMBURG 2021: Project Development Meets Financing

June 22-24 2021 online

The fifth edition of the Series Lab Hamburg organized by FFHSH, Letterbox Filmproduktion and 15 Creative Europe Desks is going online. From 22 to 24 June 24 European producer-writer-teams with a TV drama series in development will come together for script consultancies, networking and to meet with international financiers.

After a successful launch in 2016, the SERIES LAB HAMBURG once again is the meeting point for European series producers and writers. Moreover, an intensive workshop focusses on the special dramaturgy of high end tv series. The renowned script consultants Claire Armspach (Head of Drama Development at STV former BBC), Donna Sharpe (Head Writer / co-creator Mapa, West of Liberty), Blanca Escoda Agustí (Script Consultant), John Yorke (Shameless, Jekyll, Life on Mars, The Streets, Wolf Hall), Ben Harris (Tutor at Serial Eyes, Showrunner The Young Wallander, Writer Hunted, The Musketeers) and Miguel Machalski (Trainer and Mentor, Script Analyst Million-Dollar Baby, The Sea Inside) will analyze the selected projects, answer plot questions, discuss character constellations and story depth.

The 24 series projects were selected by the team in the Creative Europe Desks from Austria, Denmark, Finland, Flanders, France, Hamburg, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Wallonie-Bruxelles and MEDIA Desk Suisse. Alongside come two projects from Bulgaria and Lithuania as guest countries.

Christiane Siemen, Head of Creative Europe Desk Hamburg: „We are delighted to welcome such a strong group of producers with thrilling projects to our SERIES LAB. Last year showed us the constantly increasing demand for content and especially for local European programs. The group of experts as well as the selection of financiers promise an intense work on the projects over the three days."

The Lab is supported by NDR, by ZDF Enterprises, Sky Germany, Hamburg Marketing and GRAEF Rechtsanwälte.
