On the Move mit MEDIA

Die Förderung »Films on the Move« von MEDIA schickt aktuell 30 Filme auf Europa-Reise. Zahlreiche davon können wir auch auf deutschen Leinwänden sehen, darunter der Dokumentarfilm “Smoke Sauna Sisterhood” von Anna Hints aus Estland. Sie erhielt in Sundance den Preis für die Beste Regie in der Reihe „World Cinema Documentary“. Der ebenfalls geförderte spanische Spielfilm „20.000 Arten von Bienen” von Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren hatte seine Weltpremiere auf der Berlinale 2023.

Zwei der 30 Filme sind Koproduktionen mit Deutschland: Der Thriller „The Sitting Duck“ von Jean-Paul Salomé entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit der Kölner Heimatfilm, und an der schwarzen Komödie „Northern Comfort“ von Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurðsson ist die Berliner One Two Films beteiligt.

Insgesamt reisen die Filme in 32 Länder, in 26 davon starten die Kriminalkomödie „The Crime is Mine" von François Ozon sowie der Animationsfilm für Erwachsene "The Peasants" von Dorota Kobiela-Welchm, für dessen Romanvorlage der polnische Autor Wladyslaw Reymont mit dem Nobelpreis ausgezeichnet wurde.
